PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION

  1. INTRODUCTION

    1. ROSHN Group Company (“ROSHN”) is sponsoring a hackathon competition (the “Competition”), to be held as part of the broader Cityscape Global 2024.

    2. The aim of the Competition is to build a brighter, more innovative future for the real estate and construction industry by transforming urban landscapes into smarter, more sustainable communities and revolutionizing communities live, work, and interact with the environment.

  2. OTHER PARTIES INVOLVED

    1. In delivering the Competition, ROSHN shall be supported by the following parties:

  1. Informa Saudi Arabia Company Limited, in its capacity as organizer and host
  2. The Garage and Tuwaiq Academy, in their capacity as a facilitators
  3. The Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming & Drones, and the Center of Digital Entrepreneurship (CODE), in their capacity as subject-matter-experts
  4. Google Cloud and Future Workshops, in their capacity as technological partners.
  5. PwC in its capacity as a knowledge partner
  1. COMPETITION TRACKS

    1. The Competition challenges focus on the topics detailed in the following webpage: https://roshn.tuwaiq.edu.sa

    2. The Competition is split into the following tracks:

    1. Green Horizons, focusing on developing innovative PropTech solutions that enhance environmental and social sustainability within residential and mixed-use communities to support the UN sustainable development goals and vision 2030.
    2. Operational Efficiency, focusing on fostering efficient solutions that streamline processes, optimize costs and enhance project outcomes
    3. Social Impact, focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and the enhancement of social equity and well-being within communities through the creation of technologies and initiatives that support education, health, social inclusion, and transparent governance.

    (together, the “Competition Tracks”).

  2. COMPETITION SCHEDULE

    1. The term of the Competition will be as specified in the following timetable (the “Competition Schedule”), as may be modified by ROSHN at any time:

  1. ELIGIBILITY AND TEAM STRUCTURE

    1. The Competition is open to all residents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aged 18 years or over, except:

  1. Employees of ROSHN or any affiliate company

  2. Employees of agents or suppliers of ROSHN or their affiliates, who are professionally connected with the Competition or its administration

  3. Members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

    1. Teams should consist of a minimum of three (3) members and a maximum of five (5) members.

    2. Teams must nominate one of their members to act as the team leader and representative (the “Team Leader”). The Team Leader must be a Saudi national.

    3. Applications for teams must include the details of all participating individuals.

    4. Individuals may not compete individually or as part of more than a single team.

    5. In entering the Competition, registrants confirm their eligibility to do so and claim any Prize they may win. Registrants may be required to provide proof of eligibility to enter the Competition and/or win a Prize.

    6. Since competition seats are limited, ROSHN shall have the entire discretion to disregard applications for whatever reason it deems reasonable, without any responsibility.

  1. REGISTRATION

    1. To enter the Competition, registrants must submit the following documents and information, in respect of each team member:

    3. A copy of a valid national identity card or iqama and passport

    1. Saudi mobile number

    1. Email address

    2. ROSHN reserves the right to choose the cut-off point beyond which Competition applications would no longer be treated.

    3. ROSHN will not accept responsibility for Competition applications or entries that are incomplete, unclear, or delayed, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

    4. By submitting a Competition application, registrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

    6. Registrants will be informed of the status of their registration and whether they have been approved to participate in the Competition (once approved to participate, alone as an independent person, or collectively in a team formation, the “Participants”).

  2. CODE OF CONDUCT

    1. Participants must attend in-person all activities held during the Competition, except as may otherwise be indicated by ROSHN in writing.

    2. Participants must treat each other with respect and professionalism.

    3. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

    4. Participants must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

  3. COMPETITION SUBMISSIONS

    1. Participants may only make one single submission.

    2. ROSHN will not accept Competition submissions that are:

  1. Automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications)

  2. Completed by third parties in part or in bulk

  3. Illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with

  4. Photocopies and not originals

  5. Incomplete submissions

  6. Which fail to meet any other conveyed specifications

    1. Competition submission cannot be retracted, except with ROSHN’s approval.

  1. THE PRIZES

    1. The following Prizes will be awarded to the Competition winning Participants:

  1. Track 1: (Total of SAR 500K)

    1. 1st Place: SAR 300K
    2. 2nd Place: SAR 150K
    3. 3rd Place: SAR 50K
  2. Track 2: (Total of SAR 500K)

    1. 1st Place: SAR 300K
    2. 2nd Place: SAR 150K
    3. 3rd Place: SAR 50K
  3. Track 3: (Total of SAR 500K)

    1. 1st Place: SAR 300K
    2. 2nd Place: SAR 150K
    3. 3rd Place: SAR 50K

    (together the “Prizes” and each a “Prize”).

    1. Prizes are not negotiable, transferable, or exchangeable.

    2. The panel of judges’ decisions will be final and may not be contested.

    3. The winning participants will be awarded their respective Prizes on stage. A third party may not claim the Prizes on behalf of a winning Participants.

    4. To redeem its Prize, each winning participant (including, for the avoidance of doubt, all members of a single team) must provide sixty (60) hours of debriefing, at such times instructed by ROSHN. In the event that a Participant fails to provide the above-mentioned sessions within one hundred and twenty (120) days from the announcement of the Prizes, such participant shall automatically and irrevocably be deemed to have forfeited and lost the Prize.

    5. ROSHN reserves the right to pay the Prizes using any method it chooses (e.g., cheque(s), wire transfer(s), etc.) and to require the winning Participants to sign declarations as a condition to be processing the payment (e.g., IBAN and other declarations, proxies, etc.).

    6. For those winning participants structured as teams, Prizes will be paid in equal shares and amounts amongst its members.

    7. ROSHN may publish or make available information relating to the participants, their submissions, or any details on the progression of the competition.

    8. Winning participants may be required for promotional activity on behalf of ROSHN and shall participate in such activity on ROSHN’s reasonable request.

  1. PERSONAL DATA

    1. Each participant consents to the use by ROSHN and its affiliates for publicity purposes, for an unlimited time and in any medium, of his/her personal data, including name, qualifications, voice, image, video, (including any websites and social media accounts hosted by ROSHN and their affiliates), without compensation or prior notice.

  2. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

    1. Insofar as is permitted by applicable law, ROSHN, its agents, distributors, or employees will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the participants or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury, or death occurring as a result of participating in the competition or accepting a Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of ROSHN, its agents, distributors or that of its employees.

    2. ROSHN further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to any participant or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from:

  1. Participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the competition

  2. Any failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or other conditions beyond ROSHN’s reasonable control

  3. Any late, lost, misrouted, garbled or distorted or damaged transmissions or entries

  4. Any postponement, delay or changes that may impact the competition caused by events beyond ROSHN’s control

  5. Any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the competition.

    1. Participants agree that in no event shall ROSHN be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

  1. OWNERSHIP OF COMPETITION ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

    1. All competition submissions and any accompanying material submitted will become the property of ROSHN on receipt.

    2. By submitting a competition submission and any accompanying material, each participant agrees to automatically assign to ROSHN all related intellectual property rights with full title guarantee and waive all related moral rights.

  2. GENERAL

    1. By submitting a competition submission, each Participant represents that the submitted content will not:

  1. Contain any material that is obscene, threatening, harassing, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another’s privacy, offensive, defamatory of any person or otherwise unlawful

  2. Infringe any patent, trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property right or breach any confidentiality obligation or contain anything that is proprietary and which such Participant does not have permission to use

  3. Be obscene, defamatory, offensive, or contrary to Islamic principles or to the morals, principles or culture of Saudi Arabia

  4. Contain software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.

    1. ROSHN reserves all rights to disqualify any Participant whose conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition.

    2. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, ROSHN may, in its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude the concerned Participant from participating in the competition or winning the Prize.

    3. ROSHN reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this competition with or without prior notice or hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Prizes where it becomes necessary to do so. ROSHN’s decisions in all matters under its control are final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.

    4. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and may be modified by ROSHN at its sole discretion, from time to time.

    5. If any applicants wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
